  • By air: Meghalaya does not have any airport. Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport is the closest airport to Mawlynnong.   • By rail : Just like the airport, the state of Meghalaya is not connected with railways. The nearest railhead of Mawlynnong is also Guwahati that is situated at a distance of 188 kilometers from this village. Mawlynnong is connected with Guwahati via Shillong. Cabs are available to take you to Mawlynnong via Shillong. The distance between Guwahati and Shillong is nearly 104 kilometers and both are very well connected via Road. You can ride a bus to Shillong from Guwahati and then book a cab.

  • By road : Mawlynnong shares excellent road connectivity with its surroundings. The connection between Shillong and Mawlynnong is amazing via well-maintained roads. The journey to Mawlynnong from Shillong offers enticing scenic landscapes.

  • Living Root Bridge (Riwai Village): Located at a distance of 8 kilometers from the heart of the village Mawlynnong, the living root bridge of Riwai village is a must-visit. The living root bridge is recognized as one of the world heritage sites by UNESCO. This natural bridge is developed by the hanging roots of the rubber trees that juxtaposed in a unique way to form a fully functioning bridge. It takes years to complete the formation. But once the formation is completed, the bridge can last even for 500 years. One needs to walk 300 meters down steps to enjoy this Heritage site. A nominal fee is required to pay to the villagers to enter in this Heritage site.

  • Balancing rock : The balancing rock that nestled in the outskirt of the village attracts the tourists of Mawlynnong to a great extent. A small stone holding a big boulder for years is a distinctive site to view.
